Watch now: Capitol Hill Housing Forum - EcoDistrict

Capitol Hill Housing's 7th Annual Forum focused on the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict; neighborhood-scale strategies to reduce pollution, restore ecosystems, and improve the Capitol Hill neighborhood. With an introduction to the forum by Chris Persons, CEO of Capitol Hill Housing, Alicia Daniels Uhlig, Senior Associate and Director of Sustainability at GGLO and Alex Brennan, Sustainable Communities Manager at Capitol Hill Housing share the importance and the goals and findings of the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict report.  The presentation was followed by well-known group of panelists sharing their inspiration for creating an EcoDistrict:

Denis Hayes, Bullitt Foundation
Llewellyn Wells, Living City Block
Rebecca Saldana, Puget Sound Sage

Density Done Right at Smart Growth Conference

GGLO’s Sean Canady and Don Vehige presented “Density Done Right” at the Smart Growth conference last Friday in Bellingham, Washington. For this session Don and Sean showed a montage of built mixed-use projects to demonstrate density models. Specifically, the team presented two regional case studies, Juanita Village and Burien Town Square, that focus on traditional mixed-use residential/commercial/civic urban neighborhood centers while championing the design of density done right.
